Haribo Style Sweets / Jellies - only 3 syns per batch

Emma browne May 22, 2017

Survival is all about being prepared. Life will throw many curveballs that will tempt us to stray from your plan. For example, an evening at the cinema -- The pick and mix is a sight to behold and will tempt anyone with a sweet-tooth. EXCEPT if you already have a big bag of slimming world friendly jellies stashed in your handbag! So thats where this recipe comes in.

3 syns per batch

Ingredients

  • 2 sachets of sugar free jelly crystals
  • 2 sachets of powdered gelatine
  • 1 muller light, any flavour (but I recommend vanilla or banana custard
  • 1/2 pint of boiling water

Directions

  1. Add the gelatine and jelly crystals to the boiling water and stir well
  2. Pour two thirds of the jelly mix into a silicon mould. (You can either use one large flat mould or a mould with individual shapes. Either way, fill about 2/3 deep)
  3. Put in the fridge to set as per pack instructions or until firm
  4. Mix the remainder of the jelly mix with the muller light and add to the top layer of the set jelly.
  5. Pop back in the fridge and allow to set
  6. If using one large silicon mould, using a knife cut into portions.

Top tip

You can get a mould like this one from Amazon for optimum aesthetics (there are also teddy bear and other shapes available), although any silicon mould will work.

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1 muller light, vanilla or other flavour
  • 3 tbsp sweetener
  • small cup skimmed milk - 3.5 syns
  • 4 slices of wholemeal bread (from a 400g loaf)
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon

Method:

  1. Whisk the eggs in a bowl.
  2. Add the vanilla essence, cinnamon, muller light, milk and sweetener and mix well.
  3. Slice the bread into small squares
  4. Spray an ovenproof dish with frylight and place the bread into the dish.
  5. Pour the mix on top of the bread and make sure everything is well dunked!
  6. Cover and allow to soak for 20 mins
  7. Scatter the berries on top and bake for 20-30 minutes.
